My sleep apnea journey

This is a diary of my experiences as a sleepy mom, through apnea diagnosis and treatment. I have appreciated the information I have learned on the internet and especially appreciate the personal accounts of other's journeys. Stay tuned, it will be a wild ride.

Molar Spacers

Well, I got the thicker molar spacers yesterday. It was a quick visit - maybe 10 minutes total. The orthodontist tech snapped out the eight spacers and popped the new ones in place very quickly. Not very comfortable but at least it was over in a hurry. I think I left fingernail marks in the chair armrest.

I am not as sore as I thought I would be. That is a suprise to me. I was able to slowly eat some chicken salad this afternoon. Everything was going well until I popped a grape tomato into my mouth and tried to bite down. Couldn't manage and I had to remove it.

The unexpected sensation that I have right now is a slight pressure feeling on either side of my nose. I guess the thicker spacers have disturbed the nerve roots of my molars. Not painful, just a little weird.

Still haven't been able to tolerate the CPAP with the braces. I really don't notice that my sleepiness is any worse without the CPAP therefore I am not sure I will restart it. One less hassle.
