My sleep apnea journey

This is a diary of my experiences as a sleepy mom, through apnea diagnosis and treatment. I have appreciated the information I have learned on the internet and especially appreciate the personal accounts of other's journeys. Stay tuned, it will be a wild ride.

Things settling down

Today is day #10 with the molar bands in place. The previous week has been fairly miserable. I went down to the Gulf this weekend to attend a conference. Eating conference food is bad enough, but having to paint the sides of my tongue and the insides of by cheeks with Orajel before eating just put the cherry on it. Although I was with friends and was at the beach, I was ready to come home because my mouth hurt so bad. You know, when you feel bad you want to be at home.

I saw the orthodontist yesterday to get things smoothed out. Much improved! I ate dinner tonight without numbing anything and it wasn't too bad. Maybe these braces aren't going to be too bad. It does force me to slow down my eating which is actually a really good effect of the braces. Hey! I am already noticing a difference in my teeth! I compared my plaster casting to my lower teeth and can see a difference! My friend Kerry told me that she would be praying for my teeth to move swiftly and as comfortably as possible. Keep it up Kerry!

I have been following the Non-CPAP sleep forum on Sleepnet. Great info on that site for anyone dealing with sleep apnea.
