new wires
The night before leaving for Boston last Thursday I flossed the wire out of my back molar band. Yea. I tried to manipulate it back into the little hole in the bracket but I couldn't manage. So, a little snip with my wire cutters and I was free of that poking wire end. It was 10pm before going out of town for a week - it seemed like the right thing to do.
After getting back from Boston (G'vanni's in the north end - best italian food EVER!) I made an appt. with the orthodontist folks. It turns out that a couple of the molar bands didn't have their wires attached! Due to the angle the wire needs to make to reach those back brackets and the softness of the starting wire, this is a problem that was likely to repeat itself. The solution - a heavier wire. Sounds easy enough. It felt a little tighter in the office. Well, now things are pretty sore again. The pull is significant enough to make all my teeth painful. Means things are moving, right? I sure hope so.
My daughter Allison had her tonsils and adenoids removed on Friday. She is having trouble swallowing and I have painful chewing. We are quite a pair right now. She has been a real trooper through her surgery and recovery. She didn't even flinch when they started her IV preop. She got to come home six hours after surgery. Now she just has to put in her time to heal.
All for now.
