My sleep apnea journey

This is a diary of my experiences as a sleepy mom, through apnea diagnosis and treatment. I have appreciated the information I have learned on the internet and especially appreciate the personal accounts of other's journeys. Stay tuned, it will be a wild ride.

Secondary problem

Another problem with my health that I don't seem to be able to get under control is my high blood pressure and cardiac arrhythmias. In the last several years I have been on 5 different medications, trying several dosages of each until it is deemed uneffective or I develop an uncomfortable side effect. I remember coughing night and day for a couple of months until I realized that my Altace was causing the cough. I stopped taking it and within 36 hours my cough was gone!

Starting today I am on a higher dosage of Toporal - my third dosage increase. I am keeping my fingers crossed to see if this works.

Often times you'll need many different classes of meds before your HTN gets better. Obviously, you are intolerant of ACEs/ARBs...Have they done a full medical work-up for the HTN. ?

Another thing, after your MMA, your bp may be substantially improved...which happened to me !

Good luck

Bill
